Recommendations:
- 1. The bedroom should be dry, airy, and mold-free.
- 2. The furniture should be easy to clean, and you could choose furniture with smooth, non-porous surfaces that can be wiped down easily.
- 3. The flooring should not have joints, and should ideally be made of materials like marble, ceramic, or linoleum that are easy to clean. Carpets should be avoided, as they can attract dust and may be more difficult to clean.
- 4. All clothing should be kept in tightly closed cabinets. Individual garments, whenever possible, should be closed in plastic linings. .
- 5. Remove armchairs, upholstered cushions containing material of animal and vegetable origin, such as wool, leather, jute, kapok, hemp, vegetable horsehair, hay, straw, horsehair, etc. .
- 6. Cover the pillows and mattresses used in the bedrooms with pillow covers and mattress covers specific for mites.
- 7. Change sheets once a week. Blankets should be vacuumed at least once a month and dry cleaned at the end of the season. It is advisable to store them wrapped in a dust-proof casing after treatment with moth spray. During the summer season it is advisable to expose the sheets and blankets to the sun so that the Dermatophagoides are eliminated from direct insolation.
